Rehearsals Information:

Rehearsals will begin on October 12 and will typically be held Monday through Friday.  Rehearsal times will mostly start at 6:30 pm.  A full-day tech rehearsal is scheduled for Sunday, November 15. Please note that the rehearsal schedule is subject to change based on actor availability. Conflicts provided in advance will be accommodated; however, no conflicts will be permitted after November 10.

Actor Stipend:

$250 base

An additional stipend for each short play or monologue in which they are cast.

Casting Needs:

Holiday Shorts is comprised of 11 short plays and monologues written primarily by local writers. Actors will likely be cast in more than one piece and play more than one character. The production requires one black female-identifying actor and two male-identifying actors in their early 20s. Other roles are flexible as to gender and age, with ages ranging from age 20 to age 70. The Shelterbelt encourages performers age 18 and up of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and experience levels to audition. For a sneak peak of available roles, auditioners are encouraged to  attend an informal read-through of the selected pieces at 7 p.m. on August 23 at the Shelterbelt Theatre.

Audition Protocol:

• Auditioners should arrive 15 minutes before auditions to complete an audition form.  The form is available above to be printed and completed in advance.

• A resume with information on prior acting experience is welcome but not required.

• Actors should be prepared to read sides from the shorts with other auditionerrs.

• Sides will be posted below by August 26, 2026.

• Auditioners should be prepared to list known conflicts from October 12 to November 10. No conflicts can be accommodated after November 10.​
