Why Donations Are Necessary:
We've been officially warned - if we continue to produce original, controversial, potentially offensive, and cutting edge work, someone, somewhere...is going to have to pay for it.
Fifteen years ago the Shelterbelt Theatre was formed. In those fifteen years the Shelterbelt has, for the most part, relied on ticket sales to support our annual budget. Within the past few years, our theatre has seen tremendous growth. As we increased our audience base and the quality of our productions, so has our annual operating budget increased.
We now ask you to help us in our mission in continuing to produce new and original theatre, by sending us a donation of any amount.

Where Does Your Money Go?
The Shelterbelt Theatre is a volunteer organization. That means that the folks who answer the phone, the people who run the box office and bar, the cast, the crew, and the entire Shelterbelt Board of Directors are all unpaid volunteers! We do occasionally pay musicians for our musicals, but there are no salaried positions with the theatre. We do need money for our operations though. Our expenses include:- Rent
- Utilities
- Insurance
- Professional memberships
- Set construction materials
- Costumes
- Props
- Advertising
- Postage
- Printing
- and other misc. expenses!
