Audition Guidelines:

Typically auditions consist of cold readings from the script. If auditioning for a musical, please prepare 16 bars of music. An accompanist will be provided.

Please arrive at least ten minutes before audition time to fill out any necessary paperwork. All auditions are held at the theatre at 3225 California Street, unless otherwise noted.

WARPAINT AUDITIONS!

AUDITION NOTICE!! The Shelterbelt Theatre is pleased to announce open auditions for the original drama Warpaint by Michael Oatman and Benjamin Graber. This taut psychological drama centers around a professor and his student, dealing with dark obsession and sexual tension. Open auditions will take place Monday and Tuesday, Feb 8 and 9 at 7 pm at the Shelterbelt Theatre, 3225 California, Omaha. Actors should bring an acting bio and headshot if possible. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Roles are available for:
Dell - white male, 40s-60s
Mia - African-American female, 20s-30s
Adrienne - white female, 40s-60s
Artie - white male, 40s-60s
Regina - (small role) prefer African-American or Hispanic female, 20s-30s
Leroi - African-American male, 20s-30s

The roles of Dell and Mia do involve partial nudity, which can be discussed at audition as there are many potential ways of staging that scene. Please email executive@shelterbelt.org if you have questions about the audition process.

Warpaint runs from April 15 to May 9, 2010 at the Shelterbelt Theatre, 3225 California, Omaha.

Play synopsis:
A sad sack college professor and a curious social worker forge a peculiar, potentially dangerous bond.

We are always looking for new faces and talent! Even if you have NO previous stage experience, you are always welcome to audition, or to volunteer to help out with any of our productions! We are looking for production staff too - lighting design, sound design, stage managers, backstage assistants, directors, booth operators and other technical help! We are currently seeking applications for actors, directors, playwrights and technical staff who are interested in participating in Instant Theatre 3! This challenging and fun theatre event involves the writing, rehearsing and performing of new scripts all within a 24 hour period! Instant Theatre 3 will take place April 2-3, 2010.
